Dineunder the African sky
Premium cuisineServed with passion
We are very proud of our Chef’s, our highly qualified and passionate chefs, at Tomo Safari Lodge. They are more than just part of the team, they are family, and enjoy nothing more than making sure our guests enjoy every meal. At Tomo, guests can enjoy a pre- game drive coffee in our breakfast and coffee bar.
Later in the day, lunch and dinner are served on our wooden deck over looking the waterhole. Dinners are also occasionally prepared in our boma area for a more traditional experience. A romantic meal can be prepared on the deck of your room upon request.
Please ensure that you communicate any dietary requirements at the time of your reservation. We will be happy to accommodate you.
Morning game drive snacks
Before you are whisked off on your early morning game drive, there will be tea, coffee, rusks (traditional South African biscuits), and biscuits available under the covered thatch patio to help shake the sleep out of your eyes.
About halfway through the game drive, there will a moment to stretch your legs and have another coffee, tea, or hot chocolate with biscuits.
Breakfast
We take the most important meal of the day very seriously at Tomo. Breakfast may take place in the boma, under the covered thatch patio, or on the wooden deck over looking the waterhole.
Our Chefs cooks a traditional continental breakfast with eggs to your liking, and a choice of a variety of sides. Fruit, cereals, yoghurt, toast, muffins, fruit juices and coffee will be available.
Lunch
A light lunch will be served around 13:00 every day. Our chefs will prepare a wonderful light meal for all of our guests using seasonal ingredients.
This meal may be served tableside, or buffet-style.
Afternoon game drive sundowners
Game drive sundowners are included in your stay. While you are at lunch, your ranger will ask what kind of sundowner you would like on your game drive. Guests may choose alcoholic or non-alcoholic sundowners.
Snacks such as potato chips, nuts, biltong, and other treats will be prepared and offered to guests during the game drive.
Dinner
An exceptional dining experience awaits you at Tomo Safari Lodge. Come and enjoy our Chef’s sumptuous dishes under a blanket of African stars in our open sandpit boma. Traditionally, a boma is a circular enclosure that was used in the past to keep livestock safe from nocturnal predators during the night. Nowadays, a boma is more commonly used as a place to gather around a fire and enjoy a meal.
Each room at Tomo has its own table close to the fire in our sandpit boma, where families or couples can wind -down, chat about the day’s sightings, and enjoy a delicious cooked meal. At Tomo, we strive to showcase traditional South African food, but we don’t shy away from throwing in some international dishes here and there. We also have an extensive wine and beer list, as well as a comprehensive list of spirits for guests to choose from.
